Miles’ first encounter with the sea and surf was at the age of three in Fish Hoek, South Africa and subsequent holidays in Cornwall proved he was at home in the sea as he was on land. Miles took surfing seriously from the age of six and started competing in competitions at ten.
Miles has a great track record competing in Cornwall, and since surfing is now his passion has trained in France, Portugal, Australia and Bali. He has competed in the Quiksilver King of the Groms for the last two European competitions in France and Spain. This year he was picked up by Billabong and Adams Surfboards and is going from strength to strength
Miles has just left the UK for five weeks training in Australia before competing as part of the British team in the ISA World Championships in New Zealand.
